BECHEM Form E for sheet metal processing

Evaporative lubricants are used in the processing of sheet metal in many places. We have continued to develop lubricants to make them even more effective and efficient. BECHEM Form E lubricants leverage a targeted combination of different base fluids to precisely adapt evaporative properties to specific processes. Now we are going one step further.

Tailor-made lubrication solutions for complex demands

The BECHEM Form E series’ stamping and forming lubricants feature a mix of various synthetic base fluids and one or more matching additive components, which are adjusted based on the process parameters, material properties, and tribological requirements. Here, we don’t only focus on conventional solvents, such as isoparaffins or n-paraffins, but we also use high-performance ingredients with natural properties that make them well-suited for many uses. We abstain from using chlorinated paraffins or added sulfur. It’s not just the technical properties of lubricants that affect different areas—their continuous development also leads to better working conditions and improved well-being for the workforce. As per the Directive 2010/75/EU, some products in the BECHEM Form E series do not any contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Bright and nearly clear fluids with little to no own odor help ensure a clean and pleasant working environment.

The leads to high-performance lubricants that are either partially or fully evaporative. One example is BECHEM Form E 5600 E. It has been tried and tested in stamping and forming processes, even with demanding materials such as titanium alloys..

High demands of the metal processing industry: rotor and stator packages

BECHEM Form E 1700 N also performs strongly when it comes to the production of rotor and stator packages for electric motors. To machine 0.6 mm thick electrical steel at 250 strokes per minute, high lubrication performance is a must in order to minimize tool wear. Effective cooling is just as important because it guarantees the dimensional accuracy of the components. Residue-free evaporation also ensures the trouble-free transport of individual layers and no leftover residue when the enamel is baked.

BECHEM Form E

The BECHEM Form E series is used for simple to medium-heavy stamping and forming processes where it is important to have little to no residues on surfaces. The excellent cooling performance ensures low process temperatures and consistent precision, for instance, when making stamped and formed parts on high-speed presses. In most cases, parts manufactured with BECHEM Form E forming oils can be further processed without any additional cleaning. It is generally used on materials such as copper and aluminum alloys or foils that require mark-free finishing.

Optimizing real-world efficiency: façade panels

The use of BECHEM Form E 1600 E in the roll profiling of façade panels is an impressive example of the practical benefits of our lubricants. In an open plant measuring around 25 meters in length and with a roller set featuring 18 pairs of rollers, the amount of lubricant applied is able to be reduced by around 20% compared to the competitor’s product while maintaining the same surface quality. The product also doesn’t leave any residue behind on the rollers that could attract dust and damage the surface. Furthermore, it is highly compatible with plastic-coated panels and helps make the work environment better as it has a less intense odor.

Expert analyses for the best solutions

A detailed process analysis by BECHEM application specialists provides the basis for determining the best lubricant. If necessary, we develop custom-made solutions perfectly tailored to our customers’ unique requirements. Our evaporative forming lubricants offer efficiency, cleanliness, and process reliability combined together. And they achieve their intended effect by the time they have evaporated.
