Cookies and server log files

The websites of Carl Bechem GmbH use cookies. Cookies are text files that are filed and stored on a computer system via an Internet browser.

Through the use of cookies, it is possible for the visited websites and servers to distinguish the individual’s browser from other Internet browsers.

By using cookies, Carl Bechem GmbH can increase the user-friendliness of this website and provide services that would not be possible without cookies. For example, the user of a website that uses cookies does not have to re-enter their access data each time they visit the website because the website and the cookie stored on the user’s computer system remembers the information.

The setting of cookies for all websites can be prevented by changing the settings of the respective Internet browser. Cookies that have already been saved can be deleted at any time. This is possible in all common Internet browsers, but in some cases the website’s functions will then be restricted.

For technical reasons, so-called server log files are also created. In these files, the hosting provider stores technical data (e.g. browser type and browser version, operating system used, time of request, IP address, etc.) that the browser automatically transmits to the hosting provider. This data is not merged with other data, so that a personal reference is not possible.

Purpose of the data collection and, if applicable, data transmission

We only collect personal data if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example in connection with an enquiry. Data is entered in the areas described below:

Contact form

The contact form enables interested parties to send enquiries directly to Carl BECHEM GmbH. Due to statutory regulations, the website also contains information (e.g. in the imprint) that enables rapid electronic contact with our company (e.g. via the e-mail address). If a person contacts us via e-mail or a contact form, the personal data transmitted by that person will be stored automatically. Data transmitted in this way will be stored for the purpose of processing or contacting the person concerned. In most cases, the e-mails sent are delivered to the general mailboxes of the departments. Unless required for the purpose of processing, this personal data is not passed on to third parties outside the group of companies.

If you contact our trading partners via your own e-mail service, they will process your data (depending on their location also in countries outside the EU). Carl Bechem GmbH is no longer responsible for this processing.

Portal for sales partners

In order to log in to our portal for sales partners, you need a user name and a password. You can create these when you register on our site. We use the data you provide during registration exclusively to contact you and do not pass it on to third parties outside our group of companies. Your data will be stored until further notice.

Application

The transmitted data will only be collected and processed for the purpose of the application. Should this result in an employment relationship, the application data will continue to be used for this purpose.

Please note that the data you provide will not be stored anonymously, but will be made available to the respective HR managers and the relevant positions within the company as part of the application process. By additional consent given on the form, the application you submit may be saved and considered for other vacancies within the company.

If you apply for a job with one of our group companies, your data will be transmitted to this company for this purpose.

If you apply for a position outside Germany, your data may also be transmitted to the respective country for this purpose.

BECHEM Facebook page

In the following we inform you about the processing of your personal data within the framework of the Facebook page provided by us. In its ruling of June 5, 2018, the ECJ confirmed the joint responsibility of the Facebook page operator. You can find information about Facebook’s data processing practices in its privacy statement: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
The Facebook page you visit gives you the opportunity to respond to our contributions, comment on them, create your own user post and send us private messages with personal concerns. The data provided by you in this context and which may be accessible to us (e.g. Facebook user name, images, interests, contact data) will be used by us exclusively for the purpose of customer and interest communication. Our interest lies in offering you a platform on which we can provide you with up-to-date information and with the help of which you can address your request to us and we can respond to your request as quickly as possible.
We do not process any data other than basic functions using the Facebook page. Please note that Facebook may use tracking tools and cookies regardless of how we use the Facebook page.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your usage will generally be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will first be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other states that are contracting parties to the agreement in the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services regarding website activity and Internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that, in such case, you may not be able to fully utilize all of the functions of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Further information can be found at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en or at http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html (general information on Google Analytics and data protection). We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been enhanced by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to guarantee anonymous recording of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

The data collected via Google Analytics is deleted after 26 months.

Use of Matomo

We use the web analysis service PIWIK on our website. PIWIK uses cookies for this analysis. The information generated by cookies, such as the time, place, and frequency of your visit to the website, including your IP address, will be transferred to our PIWIK server and stored there. Your IP address will be anonymized immediately during this process so that you as a user remain anonymous to us. The generated information about your use of this website will not be disclosed to third parties. You can prevent the use of cookies as described above by setting your browser software accordingly, but in some cases the website’s functions will then be restricted.

If you should not agree with the storage and evaluation of this data about your visit, you can contradict its storage and use at any time thereafter with a mouse-click. An opt-out cookie is then placed, and as a result Piwik will no longer collect any data on your visits. Please note that if you delete cookies via your browser settings, PIWIK’s opt-out cookie will also be deleted and must be reactivated. https://discover.aumago.com/index.php?module=CoreAdminHome&action=optOut&language=en

Use of etracker

Using the technologies of etracker GmbH (www.etracker.com), data is collected and saved for marketing and optimization purposes on this website. This data can be used to create usage profiles under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the site visitor’s Internet browser cache. Cookies enable the recognition of the Internet browser. The data collected using etracker technologies will not be used to personally identify the visitor to this website and will not be merged with personal data relating to the bearer of the pseudonym without the express consent of the person concerned. Permission to collect and stored data may be revoked at any time with future effect. Doing so will set an opt-out-cookie called “cntcookie” from etracker. Please do not delete this cookie as long as you wish to maintain your objection. Further information can be found in etracker’s privacy policy: https://www.etracker.com/en/data-privacy

Use of Google AdWords

Our website also uses the Google advertising tool “Google AdWords”, provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States.

Within the framework of the online advertising program, Google uses what is known as “conversion tracking”. After clicking on an advertisement placed by Google, a cookie is stored on your computer. These “conversion cookies” lose their validity after 30 days and do not serve to personally identify you.

If you visit our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google may recognize that you, as a user, have clicked on one of our ads placed with Google and have been directed to our site. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information collected via the cookie is used by Google to compile visit statistics for our website. These statistics tell us the total number of users who clicked on our ad and which pages of our website were subsequently accessed. However, users cannot be personally identified from this information.

You can prevent the installation of the “conversion cookies” by setting your browser accordingly (see the section “Cookies”).

For details on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

YouTube

On our website we use components (videos) from YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave, 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a company of Google Inc, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Here we use the “privacy enhanced mode” option provided by YouTube.

When you access a page that has an embedded video, it connects to the YouTube servers and displays the content on the website by notifying your browser.

According to YouTube, in “advanced privacy mode” only data is transmitted to the YouTube server when you watch the video. If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be associated with your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.

For more information about YouTube’s data protection, visit the following link: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-us

Social Plugins

Social plugins are used on our websites. You can recognize the plugins of the respective providers by their logo. If you visit a page with such a plugin, the operator of the service will be informed which pages you visit. Pseudonymous usage profiles of users may be created from the processed data in this respect. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data collected by an activated plugin and how it is used by the provider. It is also possible for service providers to attempt to store cookies on the computer used.

If you are logged in with your respective account, the provider can assign your surfing behavior to your personal profile if necessary. You can prevent this by logging out of your account beforehand and, if necessary, deleting cookies that have been set.

We use a 2-click solution to prevent the unintentional and unwanted collection and transmission of your data to these service providers. To activate a social plugin, users must first click on the corresponding button. Only this activation of the plugin will trigger the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider. We do not collect any personal data ourselves using the social plugins or about how they are used.

Please refer to the data protection declaration of the respective provider to find out which specific data is collected and how it is used.

We use the following plugins on our website:

Legal basis of the processing

If we obtain consent for certain processing operations, these are based on Art. 6 I lit. a GDPR. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract, e.g. for the delivery of goods or for pre-contractual measures, e.g. in response to enquiries, the processing is based on Art. 6 I lit. b GDPR. If our company is subject to a legal obligation which requires the processing of personal data, for example to fulfil tax obligations, the processing is based on Art. 6 I lit. c GDPR. If the processing of personal data is not based on any of the aforementioned legal bases, we process data to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company (the improvement of the performance of our business activities or the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website). We always ensure that no interest of the data subject worthy of protection which outweighs our legitimate interest conflicts with this.

Period of time for which the personal data is stored

The criterion for the duration of the storage of personal data is the respective statutory retention period. After the expiry of this period, the corresponding data will be routinely deleted, provided that it is no longer necessary for contract fulfilment or initiation.

If you send us an e-mail using the contact form, your e-mails are received in the respective mailboxes and archived there for an unlimited period.

Your data that is stored in the course of the use of our Facebook page is deleted – as far as it is possible for us – when the Facebook page operation is stopped.

Right of information and right of revocation, right of complaint and right to data transfer, limitation of processing, correction and deletion

You have the right to receive information about your data stored by us and the purpose of the storage at any time. You may revoke your consent to the storage or use of your personal data at any time in writing. In addition to the revocation, you have the right to demand the correction, as well as the restriction of the processing and blocking or deletion of your data.

You have the right to contact the relevant supervisory authority (for NRW: the North Rhine-Westphalia State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in Düsseldorf) for complaints. In addition, you have the right to receive the data transmitted by you in a machine-readable format for transmission.
